| Highly
Developed User Interface |
|
|
This
ingenious software streamlines the steps
in the sleep study process and offers
a highly developed Windows-based user
interface. Among its key features is an
Operation Sheet that guides you through
starting your studies, downloading data,
analyzing recordings, and creating reports.
Users can navigate through the data quickly and effortlessly using preferred displays, trends and event lists. The data display can be split horizontally
or vertically to view different periods
or make other data comparisons. Calibration,
Recording, and New Device Wizards assist
users, and the Recording and Device Managers
keep studies and devices organized and
readily available. What's more, all the necessary features and functions to operate the software are organized on the screen for easy access and improved workflow.

|
| Sophisticated
Analysis |
|
|
Somnologica
offers signal processing and analysis
that has been critically praised for its
precision. Somnologica can, for example,
analyze nasal data to assess flow limitation,
deriving additional channels of information
to further assist clinicians in their
diagnoses. When using the Embla XactTrace™ belts, Somnologica can derive traces based on the measurement of the thorax and abdomen effort. These derived traces include XFlow™, XSum™, Respiratory Rate, Phase, and Tidal Volume. Based on the phase relationship between the thorax and abdomen, Somnologica can calculate Respiratory Mechanics Instability (RMI). Traces can be re-referenced
to provide more information from each
individual study. Moreover, the analysis
settings can be completely customized
prior to a study or during subsequent
analyses of the same data. The software
also allows specific Analysis Profiles
to be created for particular patient groups
or practitioner preferences. During acquisition,
automatic analysis can be performed in
order to optimize the diagnosis and titration
process.

|
| Versatile
Reviewing and Editing |
|
|
Somnologica's
advanced customization and versatility
in the manipulation of recorded data is
truly its most useful feature. Importantly,
this feature allows practitioners to alter
events according to their expert opinions
and adapt the software's parameters and
functions to meet their needs. Using hot
keys or the mouse, manually scoring and
editing a study is a breeze. Event Marking
can also be tailored with colors, notes,
flags, and easily edited. The Undo command
allows the user to undo actions in one
keystroke. Each trace can be manipulated
by dragging and clicking, scaled to fit,
and edited in multiple ways. Whole panes
can be enlarged and moved, and the time
and amplitude axes can be changed to customize
the workpad. Unique templates can even
be created and saved to view sheets according
to individual user preferences.

|
| Extensive
Reports |
|
|
Reports
that summarize the results of the sleep
study in an easily interpreted format
can be made with just one click on the
Operation Sheet. Featuring indices, descriptive
graphics and analysis criteria, these
reports can be viewed by sections or by
page using a special toolbar, or with
the sheet tab that appears at the bottom
of the workpad. The reports in Somnologica
include the patient's information and
can be customized with the name of the
institution. Somnologica also includes
several new types of reports. In addition,
users can now create their own customized
reports. This convenient document can
then be printed out, saved with the workpad,
and exported in different file formats,
including MS-Word and PDF formats.
