Embla’s Pathway Programs introduce the Compass™ F10. This recorder is ideal for detecting SDB, snoring and using the flattening index to indicate flow limitation in the upper airway. Based on nasal flow acquired with Embla’s nasal cannula, it also records snoring, position and activity to help estimate patient rest time.  Support for Efficacy of Treatment The Compass M10 is ideal for detecting SDB, differentiating between central and obstructive apnea and using RMI to indicate patient breathing instability. It’s also a perfect fit for treatment efficacy studies as flow is detected through the XactTrace RIP belts with Embla’s new XFlow™ parameter. This allows flow to be measured from the XactTrace belts. XFlow XFlow is a semi-quantitative measure of inspiratory and expiratory flow derived from XactTrace RIP measurements of abdominal and thoracic movement. XFlow values of airflow are comparable to linearized airflow signals generated by nasal pressure transducers and a pneumotachograph. XFlow also optimizes patient comfort. Derived from the two XactTrace RIP respiratory signals, alone it can fully represent the patient’s ventilation patterns without interfering with the CPAP mask or headgear. Combining the XFlow values with CPAP mask pressure measurements means flow and therapy pressure can be assessed in the least intrusive way.
