PLM is characterized by periodic episodes of repetitive and highly stereotyped limb movements that occur during sleep. Prevalence is not known but is a common finding in 34% of patients over the age of 60.
Symptoms:
- EDS (excessive daytime somnolence)
- Jerking of limbs during sleep
- Usually associated with low iron levels
- More prevalent in woman
