Embla A10 Recording System
The Embla recorder is a truly flexible device. It is a digital data recorder designed for EEG and polygraphic applications in medicine and physiology. The same recorder can be used for in-laboratory and ambulatory recordings. Its compact size allows the recorder to be easily carried by the patient. It is versatile enough to be equally used in pediatric and adult recordings, as well as in routine clinical work and basic research.

Flexibility in Use
Embla is fully configurable in software. In addition to the one event and two oximeter channels, the primary 16 channels are multipurpose, allowing the user to connect almost any sensor to the inputs and select the sensor type in the software. The same Embla can, therefore, either be used as an on-line polysomnographic recorder, an ambulatory EEG recorder, or as an EKG recorder.

Powerful User-Friendly Analysis
The Embla is backed up by the powerful and user-friendly analysis software, Somnologica. Somnologica is a Windows based program designed around the flexible Embla recorder. The data from the Embla is either recorded directly into Somnologica during on-line acquisition or downloaded to the program from PCMCIA disks after ambulatory studies. Among the functions of the software are starting and stopping recordings, as well as allowing the user to score sleep stages and respiratory events, manually or automatically. Scaling, zooming, measuring time and amplitude, viewing spectral information and marking additional events are other basic features of the Somnologica application software.
