Embla Recording Systems
Embla Recording Systems are developed and designed based on a decade of experience in the field of sleep technology. These systems offer a high degree of flexibility and signal quality to meet the highest demands of clinical work and research.

Embla is available in a number of different configurations:

Embla S4000

The Embla S4000 is a durable, reliable and easy to use polysomnography system. Featuring a simplified design that includes a color-coded input panel with patient layout, this streamlined dual component system minimizes cabling and increases study reliability. This system has all of Embla's key features such as Ethernet communication, Rembrandt & Somnologica software, XactTrace respiratory inductive plethysmograph technology and Embla's complete line of sensors and study supplies.

Embla S4500

The Embla S4500 PSG amplifier has been specifically designed to meet AASM accreditation requirements and features a simplified design that includes a color-coded input panel with patient layout. This streamlined dual component system minimizes cabling and increases study reliability.

Embla N7000

Designed for the dedicated high-performance sleep center. It offers a comprehensive array of referential, bipolar, respiratory and DC-level inputs required to perform full PSG studies and full 32 channel EEG.

Embla S7000

Offering extended referential recording capability, bipolar, respiratory and DC-level inputs. Suitable for both routine and extended sleep protocols, the Embla systems enable you to expand your services and record additional EEG.

Use the XactTrace Advantage

Embla acquisition systems use the XactTrace advantage. This respiratory effort sensor from Embla is based on the proven Respiratory Inductive Plethysmograph (RIP) technology. This solution delivers unmatched effort trace accuracy, eliminates polarity shift, and is more hygienic and comfortable for the patient.

Innovative Design Streamlines Connections
The patient component of the Embla System consists of the Bedside Unit and the Patient Unit. Both are lightweight and feature quick-disconnect for easy patient mobility.

The clinically enhanced Patient Unit greatly reduces the cabling for signals such as respiratory effort, snoring, flow and SpO2. Worn by the patient, problems with tangled cables are eliminated.

For routine EEG applications, the Patient Unit can be disconnected from the Bedside Unit and not used.

The Bedside unit is lightweight and can easily be worn by the patient with a strap attachment.

A mobile stand or mounting brackets provides mobility and stability.

Powerful Recording Capabilities
The Embla recorders share recording capabilities and performance-packed features.

From 12 up to 32 referential channels with user-selectable reference.

12 (S7000) or 32 (N7000) referential channels with user-selectable system references.

8 bipolar channels for physiological signals such as EMG and EKG.

7 respiratory channels that include precise, 3-dimensional analysis of body position and movement, integrated oximetry with SaO2, beat-to-beat, Pulse, Plethysmograph, integrated pressure sensor, Respiratory Inductive Plethysmography (RIP), snoring, patient event marker and more.

8 auxiliary DC channels for interfacing other critical signals.

Serial connectivity for devices with digital outputs, such as CPAP or CO2 devices.

Interface for electrode caps.

Interface for external photic stimulators.

Built-in functions that make a difference

Integrated Impedance function with illuminated display provides quick and easy bedside measurements

Easily accessible event buttons allow the caregiver or patient to enter time-stamped event entries

Integrated Ambient Light Detector registers ambient light changes in the patient environment

The connection that counts
The Embla systems set the standard by utilizing an Ethernet interface to speed clean, reliable signals to the viewer in a variety of recording environments. This innovative Ethernet technology changes the paradigm for delivery of services. Offering total Ethernet connectivity for local and wide-area networks, the Embla devices optimize facility operations and can be moved to new locations within the network environment with ease.

Not tied to the limitations of cabling, the Embla Ethernet interface integrates more easily into even the most complex recording situations.

Somnologica Studio will automatically detect Embla recorders regardless of where they are moved within the network.

Somnologica will automatically resume the recording if the recorder is moved in the middle of the recording.

Ethernet is a very well established, reliable technology that is cost effective and easy to maintain.
